Barb Clarke |
|
|
Barb has
always been drawn to art, but for many years did not have the
opportunity or time for formal classes. However, upon
experiencing the “empty nest” syndrome she was able to fill
her time with artistic endeavors. “Through my watercolor
creations, I transfer my love of gardening and flower
arranging onto paper. My goal is to achieve a fresh, loose
rendering of my subject that brings pleasure to the viewer.” |

"In this world of political
correctness we often tip toe hoping not to offend. However,
without being too heavy-handed, I choose to acknowledge
spirituality as my source and heed the inspiration of
biblical scripture that so generously lends itself to visual
interpretation. I enjoy the relationship between the
creator and creation both as a creator of art and the
creation of the Living God and Master Artist."

"To bring inside a little of the
country life’s beautiful scenery is my goal as a watercolor
artist. Since I have lived 39 years of my life on the farm
watching farmers be good stewards of God’s wonderful world, I
have grown to appreciate both endeavors. As the world is so
vast I border many of my paintings with a white border and a
foundation of a floral foreground. I hope the viewer of my
work will be reminded of the beauty of this great world in
which we live." |

Sue Gorman |
|
|
Sue
Gorman’s passion for art has been the driving force throughout
her life. She loves to paint the landscape of the Ohio River
Valley and the people of her community the way it is today,
with the underlying theme that it is always changing. Merging
her impressionistic style with abstract images gives Sue’s
work the feeling of constant change. When not working in her
Van Gogh-like style of oil painting, Sue likes to experiment
with watercolor and pencil drawing to keep her work fresh. |

Joe Jancauskas |

Joe is the past president of ORVAG and figured that he had
better do some creative work to have a little credibility.
He had never tried pastels until participating in the life
drawing class which ORVAG co-sponsored with the Mason County
High School, and then followed up with the plein air class
sponsored by our neighboring Art Guild in August, KY. He
can often be found painting wargaming miniatures. |

Barbara is a British-trained artist, Lecturer of Art, member
of the London Guild of Engravers for 15 years, and has had
many one-woman exhibitions in Britain. "I favor the
ethereal and romantic manifestations of art, and prefer to
lose myself in the joy of creating, unencumbered by any
premeditated boundaries for the finished work."

My involvement in
photography began over 20 years ago when an interest in visual
arts was stimulated while taking a TV production class
during college. While my concentration is primarily
photographic art and portraiture, I also perform commercial
and commissioned work.
My philosophy is continuous education in photography.
I frequently attend workshops, classes and lectures. I have
studied the work of and been influenced by Edward Weston,
Richard Avedon, Francesca Woodman and Ralph Eugene Meatyard,
to name a few. |

“Through paper arts, like handcrafted cards, I have the
opportunity to explore color combinations and experiment with
embellishments on a small scale. Working with collages of
textured paper and fabrics invokes the essential sense of
touch in my art that I find so fulfilling while in the
garden.” |
